OVERVIEW – Founded over 100 years ago Layne Christensen Company's Mineral Exploration Division has developed into one of the
largest subsurface exploration company of it's kind providing drilling services for geological assessment, in-situ mining
and mineral exploration with over 150 drilling rigs worldwide. In North and South America, these services are used primarily
by major gold and copper producers and to a lesser extent, iron ore producers. Changes in the international mining industry
have led to the company's expansion of mineral exploration globally. In 1991, the company commenced mineral
|
|
exploration drilling operations in Mexico and, with its acquisition
of Christensen Boyles Corporation in 1995, now has foreign affiliates
operating in South America. Additional acquisitions of Stanley Mining Services and its subsidiary, Glindemann &
Kitching, and the operating assets of Drillinti Africa, PT Drillinti Tiko, and Afridrill Limited have expanded the company's
presence to Australia, Asia and Africa.
